BRAZILIAN RED CLOAK

  • Light:
☀️ Full sun to partial shade. Brazilian Red Cloak thrives in bright, indirect light or full sun. It blooms best with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, but it can tolerate some afternoon shade in hotter climates.

    Water:
💧 Water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but not soggy. It’s best to water deeply when the top layer of soil dries out. During the growing season, it needs more water, but reduce watering in the fall and winter when growth slows.

    Soil:
🌱 Well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil. The plant prefers rich, loamy soil that retains some moisture but drains well. A good-quality garden mix or amended soil will work best.

    Temperature:
🌡️ Prefers warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C - 29°C). Brazilian Red Cloak is hardy in USDA zones 9-11 and should be protected from frost, as it is sensitive to cold temperatures.

    Humidity:
💦 Moderate to high humidity is preferred. It thrives in a humid environment, but it can also adapt to average humidity levels, especially when grown indoors.

    Fertilizer:
🌼 Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring through summer) to encourage healthy growth and vibrant blooms. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter months.

    Pruning:
✂️ Prune lightly to maintain a compact, bushy shape and to remove spent flowers. You can prune after flowering to keep the plant tidy. If it becomes too leggy, cut it back to promote new growth and encourage better blooming.
