DRACAENA MARGINATA

  • Light: ☀️ Prefers bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some direct sunlight. Avoid too much direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves.

Water: 💧 Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Dracaena Marginata is sensitive to overwatering, so let the soil dry out between waterings. Ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent root rot.

Soil: 🌱 Prefers well-draining potting soil. A standard houseplant mix works well, but adding some perlite for extra drainage can be beneficial.

Temperature: 🌡️ Thrives in temperatures between 65–80°F (18–27°C). Keep it away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

Humidity: 💦 Tolerates average indoor humidity, but it prefers slightly higher humidity. Mist occasionally or use a humidity tray in drier conditions.

Fertilizer: 🌼 Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilizing in winter when the plant is dormant.

Pruning: ✂️ Remove yellow or dead leaves to keep the plant looking neat. You can trim back the plant to control its size, and it will sprout new growth from the cut.

Growth Habit: 🌿 Dracaena Marginata is a slender, upright plant with narrow, spiky leaves that have red or purple edges. It can grow up to 6 feet tall indoors, making it a popular choice for adding height and drama to indoor spaces. It’s known for its elegant, tree-like appearance.
