BIRDS OF PARADISE
Light:
☀️ Bright, indirect to full sun. Bird of Paradise thrives in bright, direct sunlight but can also tolerate moderate light. However, the more sunlight it gets, the better its chances of blooming.Water:
💧 Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Bird of Paradise prefers to be kept on the drier side, but it needs regular watering during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce watering in the winter.Soil:
🌱 Well-draining, rich, and slightly acidic soil. A general potting mix works well, and you can add perlite for better drainage.Temperature:
🌡️ Prefers temperatures between 65°F and 70°F (18°C - 21°C). It does not tolerate frost and should be protected from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).Humidity:
💦 Moderate to high humidity is ideal, but Bird of Paradise can adapt to average indoor humidity. If the air is too dry, occasional misting or a humidity tray can help.Fertilizer:
🌼 Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilizing during the fall and winter months when the plant is not actively growing.Pruning:
✂️ Prune dead or damaged leaves to maintain a clean appearance. You can also cut back older stems after the plant has finished blooming.
