BURLE MARX

  • Light:
☀️ Bright, indirect light. Burle Marx thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. It can tolerate low light conditions but will grow slower and produce fewer leaves. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

    Water:
💧 Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Be sure not to let the soil stay soggy, as Burle Marx is sensitive to root rot. Water thoroughly but allow excess water to drain freely. Reduce watering in the winter when the plant is not actively growing.

    Soil:
🌱 Well-draining, loamy soil. A good mix for Burle Marx includes a combination of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark for added drainage. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.

    Temperature:
🌡️ Prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C - 27°C). It thrives in warmer temperatures and should be protected from cold drafts. Burle Marx is not frost-tolerant, so keep it away from windows that may get too cold in winter.

    Humidity:
💦 Moderate to high humidity. Burle Marx does well in average humidity levels but thrives in higher humidity. If grown indoors, occasional misting or a humidity tray can help the plant thrive.

    Fertilizer:
🌼 Feed with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). You can fertilize once every 4-6 weeks. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can damage the plant.

    Pruning:
✂️ Prune as needed to maintain its shape and remove any dead or yellowing leaves. If the plant becomes too leggy, trimming the stems can encourage fuller growth and help it maintain a bushier appearance.
